The Selle Italia SP-01 Kit Carbonio Superflow saddle has successfully combined a lightweight feel and comfort, which is mostly down to a system named by the brand as “suspension like movement”. This allows each side of the saddle to independently adapt to the movements of the hip. The central gap means it cushions the vibrations of the road more effectively. This saddle is mid-range. It is intended for use on the road or in the mountains. The weight difference compared to the Tekno model is down to the composition of the rails.

With regard to sizes, the S saddles are all quite narrow, i.e. with a seat width of 131 to 136 mm while the L saddles range from 145 mm to a maximum of 150 mm.

The number associated with the size (1, 2 or 3) identifies the presence or absence of the central cut (Flow technology): a special anatomical cut that allows the seat point to be “unloaded”, ensuring excellent comfort through greater flexibility in the central part of the saddle.

The S1 and L1 models, suitable for cyclists without a large pelvic rotation, do not have the central cut and therefore do not need to relieve the pressure and friction created in the saddle.

The S2 or L2 saddles have a small central cut and are suitable for cyclists with a medium pelvic rotation who produce pressure and friction during pedalling: elements which together increase the temperature at the point of sitting and can create critical condition and discomfort on a physical level.

The third size – S3 or L3 – refers to saddles with a large central cut, recommended for riders with a high pelvic rotation, which create a lot of pressure and friction on the surface of the saddle.

With size 3, saddles with SuperFlow technology, i.e. with an even larger centre cut, are also available for riders who prefer a more comfortable feeling.

In fact, SuperFlow technology dramatically reduces all discomfort caused by prolonged pressure in the pelvic area and allows you to always find an optimal, very comfortable seating position.
